So, I wanted to play a huge map with 16 nations. All went well for the first hour or so, then I started to meet nation after nation. Being rather well endowed with techs, I decided to trade some for some much needed cash.

Imagine my surprise when, after meeting 10 of the 15 civs out there, that I could only access 4 of them. I pretty quickly realized that you could only see 8 countries at a time on the diplomacy screen, but damned if I can figure out how to access the other 8 countries.

I'm sure it must be possible, but naturally that bit of useful information appears to have slipped by the careful editors of the manual.

HELP!

By "diplomacy screen" I am assuming you are talking about the Foreign Advisor.

Shift-Right-Click any "slot" on that screen and you can change the civilization on it, still a maximum of eight, including yourself.

Thanks! Thats just the sort of function that would be rather useful if it appeared in a manual....

..You can also initiation diplomacy from the F2 screen (Forget exactly which adviser that is. Trade?) Just double left click any of the civs on the list in the lower right. I find that MUCH easier then the process in the diplomatic screen, but you dont get to see the alliance/war/peace 'web' either.

The ability to play with more than 8 civs was added (at fan request) after the manual was printed. This information is, however, in the readme.txt that shipped with the game.
