Welcome to game 165 in the 6OTM Series! These games will allow new and old GOTM fans to try out the new features in Civ6 in a friendly environment. Participants are encouraged to post questions, stories, advice, tricks and failures in the dedicated game threads (described below). Each game will specify the Civ you will play and the Victory Condition to strive for. We will be working to refine the 6otM concept as we move ahead with the series. Gifting of cities is an exploit in a religious VC as the AI cant see that it will lose if it accepts the cities.

We would like to ask you to abide by our most sacred rule: Don’t replay any turns! If you make a mistake, accept it and try to recover. To ensure fair play and prevent results exclusions, please set your Autosaves to 1 turn. In the event of a computer crash while playing, just reload to the previous save and play it as closely to how you played it the first time. Please let Leif know (via Conversation (Private Message)) if you experienced a crash and how many turns you replayed.

Game Requirements: vanilla version of Civilization VI with Rise and Fall and Gathering Storm expansions. All pre-NFP & NFP DLCs are required. New Leader Pass required.

Varangian Harald Hardrada– Norway Unique Attributes:
Spoiler Unique Attributes :

Varangian Harald Hardrada Leader Bonus: Harald's Saga - Levying city-state units costs 75% less Gold. Killing a unit with a levied unit grants Faith, Culture, and Science equal to 50% of the defeated unit's Combat Strength.

Civ Ability: Knarr - Can enter Ocean tiles with Shipbuilding, instead of Cartography. All units pay no Movement cost to embark or disembark. Naval melee units can heal in neutral territory.

Unique Unit: Berserker – Replaces Man-At-Arms, Unlocked by Military Tactics
Common abilities: +5 Combat Strength vs. anti-cavalry units.
Special abilities: +2 Movement when starting its turn in enemy territory; +10 Combat Strength when attacking; -5 Combat Strength when defending against melee attacks.
Special traits: Higher Strength Combat Strength (48 vs. 45).

Unique Infrastructure: Stave Church– Replaces Temple; Unlocked by Theology
Effects: Holy Site gets an additional standard adjacency bonus (+1) from Woods; +1 Production for every coastal resource and Shipwreck worked by the city; +4 Faith (boosted by Simultaneum policy card); +1 Citizen slot; +1 Great Prophet point per turn; +1 Relic slot; Allows purchasing of Apostles, Gurus, Inquisitors

Interesting! So cash and envoys are the order of the day to 'hire' your armies.

Shame that there's no Secret Societies; this is tailor made for Owls. I suppose that would make it too easy.

Thanks for putting this together; should be a fun one!
