about settlers

I was wondering if there is a way to see(like holding shift or something) to see the third ring of a city when deciding where to place a settler/city like you can see the initial box with a yellow outline? Maybe that would be a nice thing to add, another say blue or whatever ring just to let you know the max, if of course there isn't already.

Good question.. I seem to recall something about this but it was a long long time ago.

Yes, use the city plotting overlay that toggles, if I recall correctly, with ctrl+X, then use shift+X to change the overlay from 2 tile wide to 3 tile wide.
