Adding Buddhism

I understand the reasons why Buddhism is not a fully functional religion in the rise and fall of Islam and I am not proposing that it should be added into the mod but I would like to know how I could make it a major religion if I wanted to. A major religion as to appear on the religion screen and have missionaries.

Which files would I change to do this, how much would this affect the mod as a whole?

What I am trying to figure out is the technical coding process for how to add the religion but all I am finding in the thread are reasons for why Buddhism was inserted as it was into the mod.
