Age of Ice - no menus?

I'm not sure if this is deliberate, or if it's a bug - but I loaded up Age of Ice and the game has no icons or menus whatsoever. Literally the only thing I can control is the movement of the units, although I can still bring up the advisor screens using the F-Keys. Is this really how the game is supposed to be?
