Always starting in or near a Desert..

I mostlikly play Europen Civs and since iam restarting games alot when iam not happy with my Starting location or if i cant expand anywhere decent.
And 80% of the time you spawn near a giant desert.. or sometimes even in the Desert.
I dindt know that France is a big sandy palce.
Most of the time there isnt even a river or any rescourses just uselss desert.

Well, plenty of the supposed experts on this forum say that desert is the best terrain type, so it shouldn't be too much of a problem.

It's Desert Folklore that turns desert into the best type.
But your really after desert hills and flood plains and not so much flat desert.
