ASP - PHP files not save correctly how fix

I enjoy this web page but everytime I attempt to download a file that is not a winzip file I have problems. PHP files are not recognized by my machine. Anyone know how I can fix that.. Secondly the same occurs with an ASP file.. I do not know which files I need to recognize these two files.. I use netscape 6.2 I save to desktop so I can quickly find the file, but I can open the PHP and the ASP wont give me an option to save as target only save as and then only as all files. Using Win 98SE...... Any help is appreciated... Mark
