Cannot build spaceship

Hey, I have civilization 3 complete addition and I'm having trouble building the spaceship. I have the technology neccessary, the apollo project and all the resources but it wont let me build it. When I press the little S in the corner nothing happens either. Am I being incredibly dense and missing something or is it a glitch of some kind? Help would be greatly appreciated.

Is it past 2050 AD, or has one of the other victory conditions been satisfied?

Its not past 2050, in fact its a good way off it, is there a minimum year for spaceship building? I dont think any other victory condition has been reached, at least it hasn't told me one has.

No, you can launch as soon as you're ready (550 AD is the record IIRC).
I don't know what's causing your problem. Can you build any of the parts?

Cheers. I cant build any of the parts or see them in the city build screen. I'm at a loss. I even reinstalled the current patch to no avail. I miss civ 2, simpler times.

I'm at a loss too, in that case.
If you're new to Civ3, keep at it...I can't imagine playing Civ2 now.

Exactly what I was thinking. But he said that he could build the Apollo Program. Can you do that if you disable Space VC?

Yeah, I'm pretty sure you can. I haven't had SS enabled in a long time, and my govs keep wanting to build it.
