Also @Noble Zarkon , I am having trouble opening any HOF saved game file.
Even if I download it, put it into my file directory, load up the correct mod, and open the game file in the Civ 4 game, I still get the error message.
It says:

Load Error
Cannot load version 544367164, expected version 302 or lower

Can someone else please open any HOF save file (Buffy 3.05 is fine) and confirm it is just me having the issue?

I upgraded to Windows 10 recently, so that might be the issue.

I am very curious if you were able to leverage your vassals for advantages.

Not really. But independent Mansa was singularly useful. He researched and traded pretty much everything that I would normally expect from vassals - including Medicine - and hefty sums of gold, the record amount being 1330!

Retrospectively, it is obvious that I should have expanded more aggressively. Up to early ADs we expanded at the same rate but then I slowed down rather prematurely. Early to mid game my bpt was higher (most of the time), but later you almost caught up, finishing only 6 turns later. It seems that I won only because of a better start and a few other lucky circumstances.

Nice cap, isn't it? And there is enough food for a nice compact pre-IW setup.

I'm also having problems loading save files. Viewing player/genral logs for games on HoF pages also fail to load. They were working until recently. Curiously both seem to work for recent submissions.
