civ mega pack MCP

Anyone here using the Civ Mega Pack?

I have downloaded it from the suggested link

and also got the installer 1.8.5. but when I wanna setup the installer, it says that the file is damaged.

Is that version of the mcp installer compatible with the latest RAND version?

Later on, I somehow managed to unzip the files manually to my mod folder, but all the new stuff is lacking the pictures and the game crashed more often. I can imagine that the MCP makes the game more unstable....

everthing is just fine. Mega Pack is added and new civiliaztions are great (i can even play czechoslovakia)

There is just a constant pop-up while launching the game that something's wrong with polish, mexican and danish files . I have had this multiple times now but it doesn't hurt. will maybe delete those civilisations.

@ Zeta Nexus: Chronicles of mankind is a stand-alone, right? I have downloaded the file from different sources, but everytime I load the mod with Steam Civ4 BTS, there is no interface, only map, but no option to give commands.

Never happened anything like that to me but I'm not using steam.

Are you sure it's not just a hidden interface? Have you tried ALT+I or CTRL+I hotkeys?

Yes, I tried several hotkeys, but it probably is a compatibility problem with steam. Also when I launch a new game, the welcome screen ("Your tribe has settled down.... bla bla ) is completely blank.

Do you know that it is possible to revert from steam version? I'm using a CD version so I don't exactly know how to do it but that might be a solution.

Special note for Steam users
A while ago, the online internet service Gamespy has shut down, and Firaxis have released a patch to be able to continue to play online using Steam. While this is a wonderful news, they also introduced a bug which prevents the religion icon to be displayed into the score (at the right bottom of the ingame screen). Yet, they allow to use the old patch.

• Show your steam games list
• Right click on “Sid Meier’s Civilization IV: Beyond the Sword”, then properties.
• Go in the “Betas” tab, then select “original_release_unsupported” in the dropdown menu.
• The game will revert back to the old patch (you can select back “none” if you want to revert this move).

Note : You won’t be able to play in the matchmaker online with this Steam patch but you’ll still be able to play by direct IP with your friends or with players with the CD version (v3.19).

hey thanks, that was not the solution to my problem though as I had already degraded to "original release".... BUT, in the meantime I have found another patch (I guess 2.0) and that finally made CoM run without troubles. Wow, I have to say, it's a huge conception that will require several "tutorial games". Not possible to play that with old habits from BtS. Alone the founding of a 2. city requires 3 civics. Will have a deeper look at it as soon as I can spare some free time.
