[BNW] How to build settlers with no Pottery Tech

Hi there

I have been playing Civ 5 for many years with different mods added and Vox Pupulai. I have now added some more mods but can not see how to build settlers as there is no pottery tech but instead oral tradition and map making etc. I have not played long into the game so may have missed where settlers become available but any help would be appreciated so I know whether a long term game is worth starting. Thanks in advance for any help.

With the default game, building Settlers is not tech dependent, but does require that your city be size 2. So you should not expect to have the option at the very start of the game. Hopefully this is just an “oops, forgot that” moment on your part!

The other possibility is that you have “One City Challenge” checked, or that one of your mods changes the rules for unlocking Settlers.
