How to counter Cultural civs

Make a wide empire. This will help you with culture sooooo much. You will pump out more culture then they can dream of to ever outpace with their tourism. steal every artifact you can so they have no way to fight back. This way you will be unstoppable.


Also a culture based religion would be best. Anyone with a jungle bias is basically immune to culture defeat if they get the pantheon.

Building wide empires can easily backfire due to happiness penalties, though I suppose if you have lots of money, a food/production caravan to spare, and lots of initial happiness, settling lots of cities could be nice.

Also, guess what. Settling more cities makes it more likely the AI will declare war on you.
