IDEA: Colonization: Final Frontier

I think Final Frontier would make more sense as a Colonization mod, rather than a CIV mod. I know we already have 2071, but it is largely unrealistic, especially the way the planets are handled (i.e. Why can my spaceships not beam down in the center of the planet? ) Is there any way it could be ported?

There probably is.
But it would surely require a lot of persistency and skills.
