Iriqouis bugged?

I tried out a game in MP as the Iriqouis and my units moved very slowly through trees. Only 1 tile at a time. Their unique ability is that they can use tree's as roads is it not? Are they only able to use tree's for trade routes?

were you using workers? i think workers don't take advantage of it but military units do?

I was using warriors.

Nevermind, apparently it only works in friendly territory which makes it much less useful to me.
