Bai-Ulgen or Ulgen is a Turkic and Mongolian creator-deity, usually distinct from Tengri but sometimes identified with him in the same manner as Helios and Apollo. His name is from Old Turkic bey, "rich", and Ulgen, "magnificent". Ulgan is thought to be without a beginning and an end. Ulgan symbolizes goodness, welfare, abundance, plenty of food, water, etc. Furthermore, he created earth, heaven and all living beings. In addition, he controls the atmosphere events and movements of stars. He creates land for people to live, humans' and animals' heads, and the rainbow. He was regarded as the patron god of shamans and the source of their knowledge.

Esege Malan, according to Mongol myth and the belief of the Buriats is the great Creator of all living things. His son is Solobung Yubin, a spriritual morning star which if offered sacrifices will reward the Mongol people with greater harvest yields and prosperity.

Tengri (Turkish: Tanr) is the supreme god of the old Turkic (Xiongnu, Hunnic, Bulgar) and Mongolic (Xianbei) religion named Tengriism. It is analogous with the early Chinese concept of Tianli in Western Zhou Dynasty (11th century BC to 8th century BC), and later Daoist coinage of ("blue heaven") and derived Confucian concept of Tianli. The four direction symbols of Blue Dragon (East), White Tiger (West), Red Phoenix (South), Black Snake-Turtle (North) in Chinese cosmology is also analogous with the four direction symbol used in Tengriism.
