Real life population to Civ

Vodlaian could you post the corresponding city population per city number like:
1 city pop =10000 people
2 city pop = 50000
and so on

The link I posted under the list has the list of real pops, those are the exact numbers I used.

For the population of earth, you would need almost 500 pop 30 cities (if my math is correct)

I personally think that towns should add to the population of a city, just in the stats though, not the pop number. Perhaps, the equivelent of 1 pop? (1000 people)

Here is the current math: (pop^2.8)*1000
My suggestion: ((pop+towns)^2.8)*1000

Or instead, towns could be calculated separately and added afterwards so it can be based on the phase of the town.

My city Katowice is divided in two, Because of WW2. One side was controlled by germany, the other by russia, and then the polsh underground kicked them both out. But it remained divided anyway.

The german side is nicer, and almost everyone in the russian side is Drunk. But there are no russians or germans in the city. only poles! nice introduction to my hometown of Katowice.

Now the pop of the greater katowice area, including both sides. is Pop: 18.

Warsaw 14.

Warsaw agglomeration is 16 pop (however closer to 17 than 16).

Katowice isn't alone, because it was divided in WW2. But if you count the metro area then yes it is. And Poznan is like the 5th or 6th most populous city.

Although I did want to point out that the numbers are based on metropolitan areas, not the actual city populations. For instance, San Francisco's actual population is 744,041 (a size 10 city), while San Jose's population is 929,936 (a size 11 city). But the entire Bay Area is considered one metropolitan area, so that's San Francisco, San Jose, Oakland, and all the cities inbetween =)

Basically I just wanted to complain that San Jose is bigger than San Francisco in terms of area, terms of population, and terms of economy. And yet we're not represented by a city in the game. That's totally fair. I'm not bitter in the least.

.......Stupid f'ing bridge... If it weren't for that orange piece of crap we'd be in the game...

Bah! Trossachs has a pop of 7, thats TOTAL People! My present city would be 3 I guess even though we have massive farming and ranching and a bit of mining too.
