Treasure Chest Help

I'm sorry , but this is a noob question.

HOW DO I PICK UP A TREASURE CHEST?!

i've tried placing units over the chest but the open chest button does not appear and the pedia hasn't given me any information of a specific unit that can open them.

I'm wondering is this a glitch or am i missing somthing major?

Do a mouse-hover over the treasure chest. Is it yours? If not, then you can't pick it up unless you're at war with whoever owns it.

IIRC, there's also a chest bug and where none can pick them up, including the AIs. That can also cause the game to crash or end up with a WOC error.

Note: I've run across problems picking up "chests" of dropped weapons from heroes, most notably Hyborem's Gela. I haven't run into that bug lately, but I haven't had Hyborem in the game for awhile.

For the record, if the features are working properly, then a unit on the same square as a treasure chest with item X would be able to cast the "Take item X" spell, which would give them item X and destroy the chest, unless the chest had other items. Just so you know.
