Weird game crash

This only happens when I play TAM, and only with certain civs. The game will crash, bringing me to the Windows general error message, "do you want to report...etc." The crash is set to a certain event, like attacking a city. I will load an autosave and it will crash at the same moment. I have tried earlier autosaves, waiting a few turns before attacking, using normal save files instead of autosaves, and all of these do not work. I am not sure if it is a civ specific, but it seems to happen usually when I play Rome, but that might simply be because I am determined to conquer the whole map only with Rome. I think it is just attacking the city in general. I can't remember all of the cities and civs this has happened with, the only ones I remember for certain are being Rome and attacking Carthage. I have vanilla Civ4 patched...

I assume you are using TAM 2.01 vanilla, right?
In TAM 2.01 this is a known and unresolved bug, and it happens during combat. A workaround is to avoid the combat that caused the CTD, doing it a turn later.
In TAM BTS this bug has never reported till now.

Yeah, TAM vanilla. I've tried waiting a turn but it still causes the crash.
