Full disclosure, I don’t have BE, this is just something that occurred to me while scrolling through the forums when I saw the BE forum.
The general consensus about BE, which I agree with from the videos I saw of it, is that it’s too close to Civ 5 to be a successful separate game. What if one were to turn this around and reimagine it as another iteration of Civ 5? Could it become the equivalent of a third expansion?
