Despite the existence of Chariot Archers and a good deal of mounted ranged unique units, they all end up upgrading into melee units. I think there should be a separate line from usual mounted units that always has ranged attacks.
Obviously it should start with the Chariot Archer, then at some point upgrade into a genericized Horse Archer. Many many many nations have utilized horse archers, not simply the Huns. Maybe they could get like a Treasury UB that gains GPT for each city razed or something. Unsure what medieval-renaissance equivalents should be, though maybe Cavalry would be ranged and something like a Curiassier would be melee.
As for armor units, the first thing that comes to mind is that most of the tanks represented in this game are considered infantry tanks - heavily armored units meant to support and defend the movement of infantry through the lines. It stands to reason that the ranged equivalent would be cavalry tanks - motorized units meant to take advantage of their motorization, and move in quickly to fire off and then retreat. The Landship counterpart that comes to mind would be a Light Tank- specifically the Renault FT, a unit particularly smaller than the British line we see, and especially noteworthy for its turret design. Successive ranged armor units would likely be dubbed a Cavalry Tank and/or a Mobile Artillery of some sort, and be based off either smaller tanks than the standard main battle tanks, or larger motorized artillery pieces.
