yep, questions like that and being in favor of government mandates should obviously skew the "greens" into the reds
Tend to doubt it, there aren't many actual reds around.

As a trivial aside... while I recognize that red is certainly an appropriate colour for authoritarian socialism and/or "left"... for the purposes of USA #1, which is all that matters obviously ... I wish the blue and red quadrants were switched, as it would suit my USA-centric worldview better because here the Republicans are the "reds" and the Democrats are the "blues"
Yes... yes they do... don't they? They say they do... They wouldn't lie... would they?
Many years ago, it was not set that way, some stations had the dems as red and the repubs as blue. I guess the mmm settled on repubs as red cuz the other way would have been way to obviousAs a trivial aside... while I recognize that red is certainly an appropriate colour for authoritarian socialism and/or "left"... for the purposes of USA #1, which is all that matters obviously ... I've been kind of hesitant to post my results since I know I'd be chased out, again.
Economic Left/Right: 3.5
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -0.77
I'm surprised that despite the woke SJWs leaving a bad taste in my mouth in the past five years, that I'm still close on the central X axis.
Why would you be chased out? Unlike a gothic horror novel, there are no peasants coming to the castle with pitchforks, and the mods here have a pretty strict no flaming rule enforcement.I've been kind of hesitant to post my results since I know I'd be chased out, again.
i'd say about the same as the number number of fascistsTend to doubt it, there aren't many actual reds around.

It is really interesting that majority here is left-libertarian ! :O
I would put it down to reducing a very complex mix of political opinions down to two dimensions, and then labelling those dimensions with words that are well recognised, rather than words that really accurately capture the effects that are measured. It is quite possible that there is no good word for the dimension plotted, so they went for words that is well known and would be vaguely in the direction of the extremes of the axis.I find it quite weird that not being authoritarian makes me more libertarian.
If you believe in strong societal tolerance & bonding and resent strongly authoritarian leadership... does that make me someone against authorities ???
When authority is based on and given by society... why would I be against authority ???
When someone is an expert in a field of knowledge... why would I not accept that person as an authority on that field of knowledge ???
I think that when you define libertarian as opposite to authoritarian... you basically create the opposition between organised governing and not-organised governing (is that not anarchy ???).

Without knowing what questions effect which axis (and how) it is hard to work out exactly what they do mean, but from my recollection of the questions and my guess of their effects I think they mostly mean the state "intervening in their personal environment" rather than providing a social safety net.I understand that
And simplication is almost always a two-edged knife (to analyse).
But considering that at least here on this forum almost everybody flocks in the non-authoritarian & leftish quadrant, it raises the question whether the used words are meaningful enough.
You could also use small state versus big state.
Many here believe in a big state with the state supplying all kinds of social rights (housing, education, care, insurance, etc, etc), but believe at the same time in a small state when it is about intervening in their personal environment.
