The one thing that stands out in this comment is 1UPT. Combine that with a hexbased map system and you create poblems for the AI that a human player can easily work out, but the AI can't.. The result is the AI being atrocious in city sieges, which they basically can only win against another AI...

IMHO you should never buy any game in "early access", which seems to be the new euphemism for "game is in beta" - I don't see how "I'm having fun playing" weighs up against the fact that you're buying an unfinished product. "We need to support Mohawk Games" is the equivalent of "I have plenty...

Someone metioned on Steam that it's possible to disable the 'new' launcher. I asked how but got no reply. Also couldn't find a thread on it (there nor here). So, does anybody know how to disable it?

What I meant was that Civ III had no connection whatsoever with Steam. But yeah, in 2016 I could not get this mod to work either, sadly. I might not have gotten Steam at all if it wasn't required to launch Civ V.
