    In preferences you should be able to turn of emails etc and a lot of notification, under your profile.

    It seems under "Preferences" in your profile you have it set that you watch threads if you create them or reply to them. This means you will get emails from any thread you reply to. This might be the culprit. Please try if a change there will fix your problem.

    I still want to get on site alerts though. :/

    Yes, changing the option I suggested should fix it, since other alerts are independent of this.
