    Australia Votes

What I find interesting in elections is how many people can't vote properly (Did vote counting last federal, counting this saturday as well). The most common thing (after voting properly) is that people fill out every number on the ballot, but one or two, which makes the vote informal. Why go to...

Orion's Home School 3: Nobles Learning Culture

Thank you for doing another one. I've read the other two over the last few days as a substitute for exam studying. Hopefully with my exams nearly over I can actually start trying out some new stuff. A question from the previous threads. Often you have a "science city" - what makes this a...

    Politics and mathematics

I'm sure there was a state in the USA who actually tried/did legalislate that pi = 3.14 exactly (well might have been to 4 decimal places) Although I can't find any reference to this, so I could be wrong

The most Ludicrous law in all of Britain!

I think rules like that are fairly common. Heard of similar things at Sydney university - although there if a student turns up for his exam in full military uniform, the examiners have to look after his horse. A student in recent years tried that - but he forgot his sword, so the examiners...

Civilization Wars: Battle of the Console's

I would get bored if I just had a DS as well ;) Get some more games - try Puzzle Quest, Elite beat agents or Phonix Wright

Will the value of the $ bounce back?

Exactly - I'm happy the US$ is low at the moment - I can now import things into Australia and save even more money (i.e. recenctly I bought a laptop from the US, it cost me roughly $AU2400 after shipping and tax - to buy it here would cost somewhere around $AU3200 (and it hasn't been released yet))

    You in a reality show

There was an interesting reality (well sort of reality) show on ABC (Australia) recently. Called The Abbey. Essentially, get 5 woman and send them to an abbey for 33 days. No one got sent away, no prize money to be won - more of a documentary then a reality TV show. That is one I would consider...

What do you wash your face with?

Honey works suprisingly well - if I'm noticing a pimple starting to build up, I wash my face well, stick some honey for a bit, wash it all - pimple starts to go. Other then that I use stuff I'm given

So you are suggesting the civ4 manual will help?

Post your class schedules! (Fall 2007)

Linear Algebra isn't bad really - my main issue with it is that the lecturer I had went very slowly, and the notes we were given had the key words taken out, so we had to go to lectures to get the keywords. But as the lecturer when really slowly, this made the lectures very painful. My...

Post your class schedules! (Fall 2007)

Its what I like to call "Simultaneous equations gone wrong". So sort of similar to what you are thinking about - but imagine 4 of those equations (or more (or less I suppose)) with 4 (could be more or less) variables all piled on top of each other. Now that they are all piled on top of eachother...

Post your class schedules! (Fall 2007)

Well I'm just about to finish Spring session (being in Australia) - this week is stuvac (i.e. study vacation), then two weeks of exams. And then i have to finish off a subject that has its major assignments over summer (3D modelling and animation). So this session my subjects were: Mathematics...
