    WORK ETHIC

The holy site was there before I conquered it, and I didn't convert it until after I'd conquered it. There was some back and forth between several religions there before I fully and permanently converted, so it was a different religion at some point (note Alexander didn't found a religion).

    WORK ETHIC

There is indeed still a bug around work ethic. I have a situation where one of my cities (Pella, screen 2) is not getting the production boost to its holy site, while my other cities are (example in screen 1). I have attached the save file below (latest update, GS, but no NFP).

    Great Scientist boom in world

As a side effect of this, I'm noticing that the AI is now utterly hopeless at building theatre squares and getting GWAMs. The change hasn't made the AI better, it's just given them a different issue and made cultural play easier.

    [NFP] October Update Video Thread

Cities with higher population certainly are more powerful, but the thing is I basically never need a neighbourhood to get up to 18 - 20 pop even for a landlocked city. Beyond that there really is no point (gone are the days of Civ V 50+ pop cities).

    Hating Diety

The problem with this is that the AI needs help capturing more cities from other AI. Starting with walls will only make the AI even less likely to get a domination snowball going.

Is Tech Stirrups placed correctly in the Middle Ages?

Speaking of holes in the tech tree, what about steel? This was a medieval era tech in Civ V that unlocked longswordmen. Now it is modern era...

    Hating Diety

Be careful with this assumption. It may be uncommon, but the AI absolutely can use formal war declarations against you. A recent example involved Tomyris meeting me on T7, immediately denouncing me, and then declaring a formal war on T13.

    [NFP] Diplomacy Penalties for Capitals

Scenario: let's say I start on a continent with one other civ, and all others are somewhere else in the world and cannot be met for another 100 turns. If I wipe out my neighbour on T50, and occupy their capital, I will get -5 diplo favour per turn. The problem with this is that no other civ has...

Your two favorite Civs combine, what is the outcome?

I'll go with Ottomongolia. Combine Mongolia's diplo visibility from trade posts, and double combat strength boost from diplo visibility, with The Ottoman's Great Turkish Bombard ability and Grand Vizier to get Ibrahim. Catapults that can one-shot medieval walls... Obviously OP nonsense but would...

    Anyone Happy?

One thing you haven't mentioned is ski resorts, which give +1 amenity. I always place as many of them as I can in the late game to try and get amenities in my main cities as high as possible.

    [NFP] AIs become more clever

That's why Mongolia & The Ottomans (probably Byzantium too now) are so good. Turns AI fortifications into crumbly cheese. There definitely is a balance issue outside those kinds of civs, however. We need trebuchets, and we need bombards to be made stronger.

Mostly worthless - growth is far more limited by housing than food. However, a free early game builder is not worthless at all.

    [NFP] AIs become more clever

My most recent game (deity, continents, large, standard speed) as Mongolia had me spawn next to Gilgabro, so I didn't have to worry about war until I was ready (meanwhile he went off and killed Mansa Musa - his turn to do it that game). However, when I was ready to take him on, he already had...

    Dramatic Age discussion

Another huge benefit for the Ottomans is that they can recapture flipped cities without them losing any population. Nobody else will want to do that unless the cities won't flip through loyalty as it will cripple their population. Serasker will also make it much easier to swoop in and grab them...

    Conflicting emergencies

It's probably because the first emergency passed, and had every member declare war with Canada. Then, the game cycled to the second, at which point all members automatically made peace with each other to go to war with you. Sounds like stupid, unintended, and unfair behaviour.
