The latest version is 5.8 and there are quite a few changes between 5.1 and this latest version. Probably the only updates will be minor bugfixes but you never know!
@Shirotora Kenshin OK I'm closing in on completing the description of how to get 3D unit models back and forth between Old World Unity and Blender. There are still some elements of this to describe but sharing what I have in case it is useful.

Scenarios now playable! Changed new line format to CRLF in scenario files making them playable.
Fixed Fremen description to mention Sietch Improvement.
Fixed issue with State Religion icon in Theology Civic description.
Removed defensive bonus from Peaks since they are impassable anyway...

@Shirotora Kenshin The Asset Studio project is actually configured with a Github workflow that does the compilation into Windows executable which is nice. See the workflows here.
The errors you got are probably because it is necessary to install the FBX SDK as mentioned in the Readme under Build.

Good news! This forked version of Asset Studio can unbundle the latest 2021.3.24 Old World assets and is apparently still in active development for now. There is no latest release on Github so I had to compile myself in VS2022 but we can address that.
There are quite a lot of open issues describing the same error that I'm getting. I guess the creator didn't want to fix or maintain it anymore for whatever reason. I'll take a look at Asset Explorer.
Unfortunately I've run into a bit of a blocker. It seems that since Old World was updated to Unity 2021.3.24 the Asset Studio application can no longer extract assets from the asset bundles to .fbx files for import into Blender. Without the full round trip from Unity > .fbx > Blender > .fbx >...
