I was going to create some, but realised that with the Era Mod no longer working, getting the proper outfits for the personas in the select screen just became a major chore.
It's simply baffling. They made the whole complex and utterly pointless system of downloading silly avatars with player...
Which Civ4 mod works better as a "vanilla plus" of sorts? Something that just fixes bugs, improves balances, maybe tweak a thing or two by a little bit - not a large overhaul.
I think this highlights an issue of game systems where you have unlimited access to a infinite "global market" to buy/sell resources at any time, at any quantity.
Shopkeepers would work well as a way to trade Food for Gold - but you don't need them, you can just sell your food directly anyway.
The city sites that have no Barbarians or Tribes on them but already have many connected "Urban" Tiles - what do they actually represent?
Abandoned settlements?
Simply suitable locations and the urban tiles in the map are not really urban areas until someone actually settles there?

Just want to update here with a "thank you"!
Rushing for Militia instead of Warrior seems to have solved my issues indeed, allowing me to be more proactive in clearing out barbarians that get too close.

I try to leave enough military units around to stop barbarians from spawning too close or...
I'm having trouble figuring out what is the current version.
The top of this forum Thread says:
The Mega link for automatic install offers the following options:
7-13-3
7-29-1
The Google Drive alternate download link offers this option:
8-7-4

Also stumbled on this problem while using a mod that changes tech speed.
Future Era suddenly have pre-reqs that go way back to the Renaissance Era only for some reason, and their research cost is way too low.
I've read that A New Dawn has options to limit the number of units per tile.
Where can I find said options? I looked for it on the BUG menu, on the Advanced Options when creating a custom game, and on the .ini files in the mod folder, but no luck.
Personally, I've never played a vanilla game.
Started with R&R but it quickly felt "too modded", way too much stuff.
So I tried TAC and loved every minute of it.
