  • Not a chance :p If I were in a position to make Italy a Republic, which I'm not then I would do something much more radical than that, like dividing it up into tiny bits again.

The army numbers are mostly from Thucydides, but I researched that pretty exhaustively by going through a large number of different books that I've got.
Here's my post explaining at the time why it died. As you can see, I did try to revive it two months later, and it didn't work, and so I'm not going to revive it, in all probability. (Also, your moaning about how it was going to die was a bit of a self-fulfilling prophecy, and hardly helpful. :p )

I also haven't got time to mod any more... I'm at university and also bogged down with this god-damn Confederation, which I am beginning to sincerely hope the Germans finally kick the deformed mass of down to Tartarus... If they do, I might conceivably mod something else.
I think it was the players just failing to send orders... but look at the end of it and see what explanation I gave; I probably said something at the time.
    Hey Erez,

I wanted to run something by you and had a question concerning ErezNES.

First, I was thinking of developing one Populum unit from being a glorified militia to a standing army unit. This will go on par with threats from the Latin horde and the build of the Grand Temple with the idea that this temple deserves a official guard that just the ordinary Populum Sanctum. The idea would be that these guards are recruited among the 3 units of Populum Sanctum, basically reducing those to two.
Secondly, if I assume correctly, the Populum Sanctum consist of 30% of the total Cittabaco people, including women, children etc. I am thinking about the Populum Sanctum as a class, from which a nobility might develop in the future

Finally a question, how effective is active conversion. sending missionaries and such?
Hey, erez, I have a question about your NES. Do we have to be able to pay for bringing a non-UU into being ready to fight, and if it stays, do we have to pay upkeep for it if we disband it?
I understand. It is a pain in the carpal tunnel to write individualized diplo in TerraNES. But in the end, it was worth it. For me, anyways. :)
Just noting that all your NPCs (except for in china proper, it seems :goodjob:) of the same culture have the same voice in nearly everything. :p
No , what did I post last night? I'm asking for mod feedback, I have already done it.
And you said the game was more story-based, right? How influential might my plan of sending out riders with that message be?
Question: Can my soldiers easily cross the Tigris or Euphrates without a barge or whatever?
Interesting choice to forewarn us of natural disasters.

Still, so far your NES feels like a massive "Mod vs Player" thing where you challenge us non-stop with wave after wave of... stuff. I meant to say stuff. You know, the stuff that hits the fan. Not that is bad; I'm having a blast right now!
I'd like response to Waves of Civilization diplo?

Also, are my city-state descriptions acceptable?
Not really open rebellion, just a rebellious spot. Like comparing a sore to a wound.

They are the mormons of Egypt. :3. One of them will rebel at least once, but other than taking a city or getting soldiers on their side (ha!) they won't get far THIS turn. They are shunned by all non peasants and such.
On Nirilists, it is a religious mass movement based on the deified Nile. It emerged many turns earlier and I dropped hints a couple times too. But anyways, yeah, they are "everywhere" but are a major problem in those areas.

Don't worry, everybody you're fighting have issues too.
    Yep. ;).

Imagine the histories for, say, Iggy. "Um... we were defeated repeated by softie Aramyans."
