While Wu Zetian was probably the most-historically prettiest, but whoever rendered the scenes of Theodora had made her über-hot! Therefor, she got my vote!
I had to disable Diplo Victory on my two last games because I want to pursue other way of winning. I usually already allied at least 90% of CS on the last 1/4 of the game until I got my Cultural/Science Victory, so actually I could have win diplo 100 turns earlier.
Tried France three times and had too dumped it three times. The fact that other players keep stealing the Wonders I was trying to build and falling way behind the tech race are the main reasons. The second reason was my Paris always got a rather poor starting locations; desert with limited...
My laptop is slower than yours, but so far my experience with G&K and BNW has been ok (though I will keep my map to standard, only a few times tried large map). The turns are outrageously-long only beyond turn 300 or when several civs and their CS allies were participating in a large-scale...
I don't even think anyone had mapped their entire continent (Europe for example) until late Classical or even well into Middle Age era. It's not easy, especially before mapmaking and paper, where you could copy other people maps. Oh yeah, beside barbarians, there are things that killed the...
Unless they bear Kris! Gotta love my KS, even if it is always a bit of gambling!
I second this. I used to love my cavalry in Civ IV since I can stack lots of them and use them to weaken the enemy (with a chance of retreating!). But now in Civ V with 1 UPT and battles are not always finished...
Since as long as I can remember.. Perhaps in Vanilla? Maybe the first patch.. It was always like that..
Ah yes, I always play King in Vanilla, G&K and BNW. Though in my last BNW games, I always never lead in tech race; had to used 3 Great Scientists to get the last part of the Spaceship...
I think the arguments were all started when you used the word "European" instead of "Western" (or whatever word closer to your intention). I personally also feels that Brazil adds certain amount of so-called "exoticism", at least better than to put another typical "Western" civs in the game...
Which are these roll (sic) in European affairs that you speak of? I don't think that Brazil is any less European than US.. Or is it because most Americans have pale white skin? But even not every Europeans are white.. Or because of Brazil's Latin-origin language? But almost half of Europe speak...
First played as Indonesia, got bored after 200+ turns because it was so peaceful. Then Portugal, also had to quit because of weird map (very isolated from other civs and CS). After that, gave Indonesia another chance and won diplo victory. One of the most fun game I ever played.
I love BNW! However, what I missed the most from earlier Civs are not vassals but nationalities. Your conquered cities might be yours to rule, but they are full of people from other nations who hate you, only to be assimilated after centuries living under your culture or emigrated elsewhere...
If pursuing a peaceful victory, avoid making Defensive Pact with anyone.. Seems like a lot of leaders are suddenly trigger-happy once they got into Industrial age.
