  • Had my fill of the gun control threads for now, although I'm glad I'm not the only one stuck scratching my head.
You might be intrested in the geopolitical games of IOT. Two especilly being set up that may pose of interest are IOT: Great Journeys and Fight and Don't Die! The former is space based, the latter is set in Earth. You can set your own nation in these games. Consider them well.
Just read through the article you posted on poverty myths. I always considered it strange that for all the poverty that exists, it doesn't seem to be well-understood; it's not something that America is really conscious of at the moment (or perhaps, for decades).
I agree with all of your points.
I do have one question about authoritarianism though:

Does support for gun control, in your opinion, count as an authoritarianist course of action? I think it doesn't, but I have trouble trying to say that it isn't, other than to say that it is a necessary action for public safety. At the same time, this justification is used for all kinds of authoritarian actions....just curious what you think about it.
If you had your druthers, what kinds of domestic and foreign policies would the US follow?
Approaching the 3 month mark and as lazy as a bum! Bought a Solar Panel DYI Kit to play with. Dug out my 3 boxes of Reel to Reel tapes and bought a piece of equipment to hook up to the computer, with program, to record them onto the HD. Made these tapes for the most part when stationed in Germany in '74-'75. And I still have a working Reel to Reel player! And I can take a nap anytime I want!!!

    Hey old friend,
Stopped by to say hello and hope you're doing well. Got any Yiengling (sp?) left? Wondering if you still had a fondness for it.

    JosEPh :)
Having observed you I feel that you might be intrested in the forum that I come from: Beyond the Lampshade. Considerations.
I'll take the cataclysmic event. This nonsense needs to change.

Just wondering, if a Ron Paul or Gary Johnson was the Republican Candidate, would you ever consider crossing party lines?

Is Obama really that much better than Romney? I find that difficult to accept, I think they're close to equal, which pretty much means I'm rooting for Obama in a sick, twisted sort of way since four is better than eight. I'd certainly never vote for him though.

That said, that may be in part that I do think Romney would be marginally better on economics. I take it you think Obama would be better on economics, which leaves Romney with essentially no advantages.
    I wouldn't say "Worse" necessarily.

I guess you've got to do what you've got to do. Its just that until people like you and me who don't agree with what either party is selling vote for someone from a different party, third parties will never be major players.

Do you actually like him (Obama) or do you just think Romney is worse?
