But that's the problem; I never did so! The forming of Great Britian, or even the English conquest of Wales, just wouldn't happen in a timeline where England stayed and expanded in France. I've been trying to work something out, but he just won't comprimise on that or anything else.

If.. it helps at all, my war plans should only be enacted if attacked? If specific nations decide to not strike at me.. I don't strike at them. Perhaps its too late.. but I'd really hate to shoot myself in the foot at this point.

Oh no, you can miss orders. It will only get "serious" if you miss several in a row, and it is towards the end of the game so its "unfair" that you continue to survive.
