Nice one, glory :)
I guess this concludes the topic. No way Keshiks are able to beat T113 (unless you get a land filled with salt and forests to chop GL and NC fast).
I'm not sure if Spain can beat Zulu either despite the stack of free gold at the beginning, but then again with Spain you might...
I was thinking Mongols when I saw this thread and gonna give it a shot. It might be doable if there'll be enough horses, will need a lot of Keshiks to get sub 150.
Attila might have a small shot to do a very early dom with HA spam provided the circumstances are ideal. Haven't played them on...
Nice, Tabarnak :) How did you manage to get 10 units so fast? Did all your scouts get upgraded from ruins or you got early Military CS friends/allies? Looking at the shot your cities couldn't have hardbuilt many archers by now since you probably hardbuilt a settler and a caravan too. Maybe you...
Wasn't this the same problem with G&K? Not sure to be honest since I've done diplo win only once, in Vanilla and never went for it again.
If you're right about BnW diplomatic victory, I guess domination is still the most fun way to go like it was in G&K.
I'll give this map a shot and try...
What's with all the extra rules and restrictions on this challenge? I'm gonna skip this one because of them. IIRC they weren't very popular in some of the previous challenges either.
Venice is an interesting civ. I started my first BNW game with them. Seems like they're up for any victory...
This is a very strong option when playing Venice or OCC and can prove handy with other circumstances. I'd definitely try to take it if I'm going for SV.
Might give this a try later, sounds interesting but I'm gonna play those new civs first.
Is the OCC-option selected or just advised way to play this? It makes a lot of difference when going for domination.
Where's all the jungle? :)
It might be possible to get GL on Deity with Shoshone. I think you'd need four forest tiles to chop (additional starting tiles help with that), some luck with tech ruins (to get at least one of the three techs needed) and steal a worker(or two if you don't get a free one from Liberty as your 2nd...
I hope they improve Honor. I've been often using Honor when going for an early domination win but even then it hasn't felt like the obvious choice which it should be if you're putting all your focus and resources for warmongering right from the start.
My comment wasn't made towards you btw, I know it's (the bribe + DoW) been commonly used and falls under the HoF rules. I've done it a few times too and I'm sure others have also. I just don't like it and haven't done it for awhile. I don't mean to take anything away from your games. You've...
Yes, it's very lame but effective way to get rid of the guy with the biggest army as you can bribe him to DoW anyone. Repeat this a few times during the game and you might have every opponent in war with multiple civs, practically for free.
That's why I didn't even build any Rams. With logistics (and range) on HAs, I can hit the cities from safe distance. I think it's easier with OCC checked because you can just make peace (or runaway) after capturing the cap and heal the units by pillaging the tiles. Cavs and I assume Knights too...
I'm trying to do this with the Huns atm. No cooked settings (except OCC ticked otherwise everything standard and pangaea). So far everything's good. I'm on t70 and about to attack the 4th capital. Have 10 HAs (5 or 6 of them have logistics, one even has range and march too, and 3 horsemen). HAs...
I agree that earlier will be better but not sure if Horse Archers are strong enough. They start with a promotion so you'll get Logistics earlier but you'll still need a lot of them to be able to take all caps before the AI gets too strong.
Nice! One of my favorite civs and a very interesting start location. The whales tell me to stay put but the grey tiles with one green dot make me want to run far away.
