I started work on a civ type game over 10 years ago with Sn00py, god that makes me feel old :( Unfortunately it never worked out. Almost 3 years ago I came here with this post, this then gave birth to IndieCiv. You have got to be the first person to come up with the most sensible request...

IndieCiv never stalled due to lack of time, as stated in this post, it was due to the fact that pretty much every one wanted some thing close to playable before they would start using it. And it doesn't help that every one wanted some thing new in civ3, so adding all those new features on top...

Thanks Quintillus. What you are seeing is correct, this was mostly for PiotrG and MPK who are getting a white box with a red cross. I wanted to see if they were having issues with DirectX. I've not heard from either of them yet.

For those that are getting a white box with a red cross, I've uploaded a new version. There is now an option to switch between DirectX 9 and OpenGL. Please let me know if either work. http://indieciv.codeplex.com/releases/view/101939

Do you have 3 files in the same directory as the exe IndieCivTools.exe IrrlichtLime.dll Irrlicht.dll

OK, how did you break it. The download contained a rar file with 3 files inside it, those 3 files should all be in the same directory. Can you send me a screen shot?

I've added a new release http://indieciv.codeplex.com/releases/view/101817 This is a test release and doesn't actually do any thing, it's mainly to see if every one can run it. Looking at you MPK :)

If you are still getting the same error of "MSVCP100.dll" is missing. Then you could try finding that file on your computer and copying it into the same folder as the .exe you are trying to run.

I went over this a while ago in this thread http://forums.civfanatics.com/showpost.php?p=11988506&postcount=8 But he pretty much refused to download it. At the moment I'm looking into moving the editor over to Microsoft C# Forms, as I'm not really impressed with wxWidgets.
