I have just completed my first CIV4 game and I am pumped. IMHO it is far superior than any of the preceeding Civ games, which is should be. The other Civ games were great back when, but this is NOW.

u could gift cities in civ 3 too, but the effect wasn't as impressive as grushing the budget. the worst that I experienced was a flip back from time to time.

I too am a regular guy. I too will have to learn how to play this game. CIV III was great and still provides a real enjoyment to play. When my copy of CIV 4 arrives I plan to start at the middle difficulty and learn the game from that point. It took me too long to get from settlers to emporer...

Or you might need to upgrade the operating system or various component drivers. There are a lot of things to try even before you buy upgrades. One of the annoying things is a clean reinstall of the operating system, but sometimes this is the best thing to do.

The internet is a great idea but could be revised. There should be an increase in scientific acheivement, or and education, or and war wieriness. The effect should be more real with even an option of sabotage and criminal activity against other civs.
