    Language translations for leader sayings

Hello all! I'm glad the thread has prospered in my absence. I think it's fine that Wikia translations become the main source for Civ translations, since they are less reliant on one person (i.e. me) uploading them to a central database. I've been quite busy of late and contemplating a shift in...

[NFP] Civilization VI: Possible New Civilizations Thread

I yawned when I heard it was Portugal. Europe in Civ VI is overcrowded as is. Still, one can hope for unique abilities, if nothing else. (Would have preferred Morocco, Benin, or the Haudenosaunee...)

I am hoping against hope not to have Portugal. Haudenosaunee please. Or any Native American or African civ.

Rebalance of 2/3 of all civs in April!

This is a welcome announcement. As far as things I would like to see, making Greece’s bonuses more developed would be nice. I don’t mind that their bonuses are easy to remember and/or easy for new players to know, but they are a tad on the simple side compared to literally every other civ in the...

What after the New Frontier Pass - the end or more

I don’t know how sales of the New Frontier Pass are, but I think after it’s over people outside of these forums will largely be itching for Civ VII. I wouldn’t mind smaller updates further down the line like map packs or balance changes, or even animation upgrades for most of the NFP leaders...

    [NFP] Kublai Khan Discussion Thread

Interesting abilities, but Kublai’s eyes look dead to me, putting him squarely in uncanny valley. Good thing Lady Trieu looks more... animated. Kublai is also missing the hat from his famous portrait, which is a shame.

    civlization MythsVS History

The idea that because Civ is based on “history” it must never incorporate mythological elements is inherently unsound because Civ already incorporates mythological elements (not just in using legendary figures like Kupe, Lady Trieu and Gilgamesh, but also in using the Bermuda Triangle, El...

    civlization MythsVS History

I disagree with your view that Civ is "built on the secular, materialist framework of reality". Moreover, vampires are already in Civ VI, and mythic/legendary heroes, including Hercules, as well. Whether we want supernatural elements or no, Firaxis has seen fit to include them, albeit in a...

Migrate from Civ 4 to 6

Civ VI is definitely mechanically more complex than Civ V, which might appeal to Civ IV fans generally. I like Civ IV for the complex mechanics and the fact that the game mechanics are explained well (whereas with Civ VI, some things like tourism have to be calculated/figured out in these...

[NFP] Civilization VI: Possible New Civilizations Thread

When do we expect Kublai Khan's first look, the developer stream, and pack release? We are in the last week of January here.

    Music of Civ VI

Agreed. I did prefer Civ V's themes because of less repetition. Bombast is fine except that when it's repeated too much it loses its impact (like someone shouting at the top of his lungs all the time). As Asian themes go, I favor Mongolia, Indonesia, and Japan. Medieval Vietnam theme is great...

    civlization MythsVS History

Who knows? Maybe Firaxis already has plans for one such entry, or has discussed it internally before. Myth and legend is a good bridge between fantasy and history. :D

    civlization MythsVS History

A mythology-themed Civ game would be great (though I would appreciate an epic atmosphere over one that leans into humorous territory a bit too much). PotatoMcWhiskey also mentioned the concept of a myth-themed Civ when responding to a chat comment indicating he thought it would be a great idea. :)

is it bad that... I acutally like/love civ 6

I echo this. Civ V was when Civ broke out into the mainstream (in particular, I noticed all my friends heard of it after the positive reviews and videos of the leaders). Civ V had bigger sales than Civ IV as well IIRC, so I don’t know what Noble Zarkon is referring to when he claims Civ V...
