  • I can't find it now, but I recently read a true story that talked of an Indian tribe, who had never heard of the gospel as far back as could be remembered, and had never seen a white person, but they had a tribal legend which said a white man would bring a book telling of the truth of how to be saved. They waited for generations and generations. Finally, it happened, and the tribe believed in Christ.

Did those who died over several generations go to Hell? My belief is no, since they believed WHAT THEY KNEW.

On the other hand, there are atheists who clearly do NOT believe what they know (A country like North Korea, where the entire country is indoctrinated with Atheism, is a rare exception) and even if they've never heard the details of Christendom, I think they would be condemned. But I agree, its a tough question we don't know for sure on.
Which ones do you agree with? Do you agree in Salvation by faith alone? (If not, I REALLY encourage you to read my post in "Ask a Protestant," since that was the main topic of that post.

As for your second paragraph, I wouldn't be shocked. I think its unlikely that all of them will be saved or all of them will be damned, I think some will be saved and some will be damned. I don't know how it will be decided, perhaps just by God's mercy, perhaps by whether they had faith by what they DID know. I have no idea. Even in the walls of Christianity, I use this idea. I think its unlikely that an American who denies the trinity will be saved, but in a Third World country, where knowledge of Scripture is far less, that would probably not hold true.

I agree of course that regardless of their faith, its our job to spread the word. IF those people will be saved, it makes perfect sense that he didn't tell us so, for this reason.

    To be continued.
Finally, it could be that those who haven't heard are damned since they have sinned. I don't particularly like this option, but it still is just since we all HAVE sinned. I don't really subscribe to this option, since I believe God wants everyone to be saved, but we shouldn't assume 100% that we have these answers.
The problem with Catholicism is that they DO NOT ALLOW for "Falling out of line with their teachings." In Catholicism, you have to accept their dogmas or you are considered to be excommunicated. I don't know exactly how this works, but if its a dogma, you have to believe it. This is a bad thing. In Protestant Churches, but especially Baptist ones, people are allowed to think freely and decide for themselves what to believe based on the Scriptures. That's why I think Protestantism is better than Catholicism.

For your second paragraph, IMO God wouldn't really need to ask, he could simply judge based on what he knew they would decide. I'm not saying this is how it works (How could we know, Scripture does not say), but its a possibility.

    To be continued.
    Hmmm...

I don't know very much about the Methodists, but I know without a doubt Catholicism is wrong and would encourage you to reject it. Read my post in the "Ask a Protestant" thread that I most recently made (As of this time) and you can read why. It wasn't specifically addressed to you, but I think its a worthwhile read for you anyway. I dug very deep into works-Salvation and why it is wrong, I'm curious of your take on it.

Also, your beliefs on Salvation don't line up with Catholicism either. You believe that Christians exclusively will go to Heaven (As will I, though I think it is possible that those who have never heard the gospel may have a chance, as will those who are too young or mentally impaired to understand.) While Catholicism teaches "Outside the Church there is no Salvation," the way that is explained they actually believe people of almost any faith could potentially be saved.
Are you aware that Singapore is incedibly right wing while Malta is almost socialist?

Thats the reason I want Sing to win...
It's one of those things that have become common knowledge. Have you watched the film 'The Queen' starring Helen Mirren as the title character?
