Hi! Just replying about the merchantman unit, as far as I can remember the AI was definitely not fond of the unit in th Pirates! mod. I remember seeing an English merchantman hanging around the cursed treasure island at the top of the map, literally just sitting there doing nothing. I'm fairly sure the AI never sent one on a trade mission, in fact, I don't reckon it ever built one. Anyway, that's all I can remember. Hope it helps!
