Any other games even close to Civ4 for you?

I have been playing Spider Solitaire while watching TV. It is somewhat challenging if you use all 4 suits, but still kind of relaxing.

Who is in your opinion the most hated IA civ leader?

Capac, Mansa, Ghandi. I rarely have major problems with the military dudes. I can usually stay ahead of them on tech or else use diplo to direct their aggression elsewhere.

Which leaders are the best at what they do? Which leaders are impressive all-around?

At higher levels, you definitely do not want to whip away your population to build Temples! The combination of Organized and Spiritual builds Temples very fast, and that is important when you are building dozens of them.:)

Which leaders are the best at what they do? Which leaders are impressive all-around?

Spiritual is essential for those of us who play for Cultural Victory.:)

Which leaders are the best at what they do? Which leaders are impressive all-around?

Ramesses rules! I have a great UU, and can build wonders, Temples, and Forges faster than other civs. I can switch civs with no anarchy, which makes Pyramids super useful. I have tried playing other leaders, but my only Immortal wins with other leaders was with Capac. I agree he is a tough...

How do you take a screenshot in Civilization IV?

Or, you can just get yourself a Macintosh computer and press 3 while holding down the shift and command keys.

How to ask another civ to convert religions?

The AI sometimes just tells me "Switch to my religion or we go to war." It might work in reverse. I have never tried it.

    Understanding settler spawn locations

I have been moving my settler more lately if my original location is mediocre. I move him to the coast if that looks reasonable, or up the river farther to open settlement space behind me. Sacrificing one turn is worth it whenever you can see that it will make your capital city stronger.

    Road cutting...

True, but I take it as a personal insult when they build a city right on my border and far from their own capital at the beginning of a game. 9 times out of 10 we end up in a war, so I cut his road right up to the start of the war. This ties up his workers and prevents him from bringing...

    Road cutting...

I am tired of messing around with Shaka. From now on, when he is my neighbor, I am going to plot to kill him from turn #1. Today, he built a city far from his capital to jam me and get the copper. He then had workers build a long road to connect this city to his capital. I sent two war...

    Advantages and disadvantages of isolation

You have to manage the economy very carefully in an isolation game, because you won't have the benefits of trade routes to other civs for most of the game. It is even more troublesome if you don't have many financial resources on your island, which is usually the case at the higher levels...

    What is the best tile?

With few exceptions, I will trade any tile for Marble if I don't already have it.:)

How to stop Egypt and India from being so overpowered?

Yes, this has been my experience, also. I play Ramesses about 99% of the time, and anytime Musa, Ghandi, or Capac are in the game I do everything possible to slow them down. I rarely lose games to any of the military dudes.:)

How hard is a peaceful victory?

I've had peaceful victories at Immortal level, but it depends on the map and your neighbors. Normally, I look for an opportunity to have an early war to gain land and then use diplomacy to avoid wars for the rest of the game. Peaceful victories at lower difficulty levels are easy.:)
