  • Dads retired now and was in recruitment ( sorry not , John Bonhams roadie ) . But he was a journalist for a Melbourne jazz (his first love) magazine . He also had a radio program called " bottom of the dial" , a very cool reference to Elvis' answer to what he listened to on the radio (the black stations being tucked away in low end of the band) . He's done some other great stuff , he was in a Chicago club the night after Muddy Waters dies where an impromptu show by various greats was played . Spent 6 hours on a train ride one on one with Carl Perkins basically discussing the early days at Sun records . I took him to a Metallica show last October !
WOW, really?? What'd your dad do, if I may be so impertinent? And I agree about the classics, but I think the younger folk of today would do well to familiarize themselves with everything from Duke Ellington to Bach to Robert Johnson to Woody Guthrie - if nothing else, having deep roots in the past helps forge new ground in the future. Plus, there's just so much great music out there!
Well, I am British myself, you know, but I'm not sure how else you reveal to someone the cunningly concealed fact that men need to shave on a regular basis. :)
It wasn't expressed in a terribly sincere manner. Anyone would think that you were secretly British. :D
"Yes . Shave . I have total confidence in you"

You're a meanie! (Your first message too!) :D
