Nope, I'm on Shaw DOCSIS 3.0 50down/3up internet, no tv service.

I'm familiar with Alberta/NS internet/tv service, so Shaw/Telus/Eastlink/Aliant, for the most part.

Only Optic tv experience I have is with Telus, I was not impressed at all with their HD content, the quality was pretty poor, from too much compression/too low bitrate.

You're in Ontario? If I was in Ontario, I'd probably look at teksavvy for internet, they've got 15/1 cable lines with 300gb or unlimited caps, and your money doesn't go to support the big players in the industry.
