Difference between Communism in Civ3 Vanilla and C3C

I believe in vanilla and PTW the capital had some corruption in all governments; it was considered to be at distance 1. I would think the corruption in the capital in communism would be the same as every other city.

Probably they switched something in their finances between their offer and counteroffer so they don't have any positive gpt anymore. I would have thought they might have offered straight gold when asked what to pay though.

    Tech Trading Help Please

I would have expected the price for navigation to be close to 2/3(optional tech)*1493(estimate of monarch tech cost, don't have civ on this computer)+13(ocean trade)=1008, higher if they are aggressive or have a bad attitude (or there may be other factors I haven't tested). The +10 for wonder...

1000 Bad Habits in Civ 3

    72. Rushing an improvement with your leader instead of building an army (a habit of misclicks would be bad for other reasons as well).

I tried to directly test the effect on flip chance, but a city that had a 100% flip chance according to the formula didn't flip for several turns, so there must be some maximum. I'm pretty sure a three-unit army counts as three units in regard to quelling resistance (multiple empty armies had no...

If a city has resistors, I may turn enough citizens into entertainers so the city will not riot if all the resistors stop, which is often close to one entertainer per resistor. The rest of the non-resistors would be scientists/taxmen (BTW civil engineers are useless in this situation). I'll...

    Explanation of the governor

This article explains how the governor decides how to allocate the new citizen when a city grows or when a citizen stops resisting, assuming manage moods is off. When a city shrinks, it culturally expands for the first time, or you click on the center tile, it will allocate the citizens from...

    No Terrain improvement expansion

No terrain improvements is a viable strategy for someone who's a deity or sid level player who's playing on regent, i.e. http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=76351 and http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=41781

Testing out CxxC vs Metros for Space Race ability

Probably people should stop saying CXXC and the like, using ICS, 12C/C (12 citizens per city), and OCP instead, so nobody assumes the strict patterns nobody uses. I've never been sure what sort of setup CXXXC means.

Question about the Great Wall and its effects...

I purposely tested outside the city the Great Wall was in, and both bonuses worked as I described in my earlier post.

    The road less traveled by

If an unknown (to the civ buying or researching) civ learns a tech, it makes no difference in cost to research or buy. This means for example you can buy a tech from a civ and sell it to another civ that doesn't know the other civ at monopoly price.

Question about the Great Wall and its effects...

In vanilla, for both normal attacks and bombardment, the Great Wall only increases the defense of walls. I didn't test air or sea bombardment, though; I'm not exactly sure how walls affect them (nor do I remember what the order is in vanilla). The Great Wall and difficulty bonuses (testing on...

    Bombing Missions

This thread explains bombardment probabilities, although the chances of hitting unit vs. improvement vs. population have changed in C3C. Land bombardment will destroy walls in towns (or do buggy stuff if the walls come from Great Wall), then units, then population or improvements. Sea...
