Actually I prefer that one. (I was playing that game when I was seven, I think. Or maybe even earlier. It'd just come out anyway. Twisted, I am.)
The first time I heard this I immediately was reminded of video game music. A lot of middle movement from Baroque concertos sound like this sort of music. Another good example is the "Largo" from the 'Winter' concerto of Vivaldi's "Four Seasons".
I would have posted things here but Kyriakos seems to have exactly the same taste in game music as me. Do you come from a progrock fan background? I'm an ex progrock addict myself. Here was my starting list:
Age of Wonders - Love and Death (already posted by Kyr)
Castlevania; Symphony of the Night (One posted by Kyr, but I love a LOT of songs, this game has one of the most epic soundtracks of all times) Here is one he hasn't posted yet. Love how they actually say "screw this here is some weird gothic-jazz and you better like it you nerds". There's actually epic Mellotron in that song.
Age of Mythology, HOMM III and Stronghold also have some amazing music IMO
As does the Pokémon series (at least the first two generations)
To be honest, I really like Touhou music as well
Very nice! Too bad I don't play any horror games because I'm too much of a little girl (seriously, I'm halfway through Penumbra and I don't wanna play it anymore! Even the PC game Call of Cthulhu is too much).
I am like that too, to a degree However i also write horror fiction, so am a bit in control of my fears. But in the past i was totally unable to play horror games since i stepped into the role of the protagonist, and it was horrible
