Impi upgrades -- Does the party go on?

I'm playing my 2nd BNW game with the Zulu. The Impi is by far the most impressive unit I've seen so far, and the unit maintenance bonus means you can field a devastating army in the classical and medieval periods. So here's the question. Do the unique Zulu promotions -- those from the Ikanda...

Wonders that look best on the map

In ascending order of visual awesomeness, for me they are: - The Oracle (though it's a bit too Heroes of Might and Magic-y) - Angkor Wat - Sydney Opera House (when it's jutting southwards) - Machu Picchu - Mausoleum of Halicarnassus What do other people think?

Wonders that look worst on the map

I really like the CiV map. Cities feel alive, units feel alive, the ocean shines on the horizon... But... But the wonders... Some of them, the coolest ones even, are a few tiny ugly dots. So much work to build them, and they look so... unsatisfactory. Which ones? My list, in ascending...

    Trading and shipping food

I wonder why food is a strictly local good in CiV. With the exception of maritime city-states, all the food consumed in a city is locally produced, down to the information era. While that is rather healthy given what we know now ;) , it is not exactly how civilization developed. And trading food...

    Are bombers underpowered?

So, I have G&K, on a Mac so not the most recent patch. I've noticed that battleships and battle cruisers are far more effective in bombarding cities than bombers are. And they don't take damage in the process. And bombers won't destroy tile improvements around the city, cutting the food supply...

    New unit: Colonist

I think a key weakness of G&K is its inability to simulate colonization. Building new cities in the renaissance period is too costly in terms of culture. Besides, at that period you're usually trying to improve happiness or to catch up scientifically. I think a new military unit to be...

    Religious influence

How exactly is religious influence/pressure calculated? Is it just the number of people in nearby cities, or is it also how much faith those cities generate? How do beliefs like holy texts come into the picture? Thanks in advance for the answers

    Names for religious great people?

Is it at all possible to add names for great prophets, missionaries, and inquisitors? It would be fun to use Torquemada to clean up Rome from Christians in the name of Buddhism :p

    Ironclads and monitors

I think ironclads should be ranged units. When they first appeared, they really revolutionized naval warfare, rendering wooden ships (frigates, men-o-war and caravels) obsolete immediately. And they were used for blockading and bombarding ports during the US Civil War. So with steam power...

Some ideas and request for help

I really like the fundamentals of G&K but I’d like to tweak them so the religion and policy aspects of the game play better. In my games, I’ve observed that the spread of religions doesn’t require much player attention in the form of training and fielding missionaries and that it doesn’t speed...
