I think the Heroes V Elder Druid looks particularly badass and would make a great image to base a druid from. Though in that game they tended to get picked off pretty quickly.

This already (nominally, and probably in a more manageable form) exists in: melee < archer < horseman < melee Obviously they aren't rock-paper-scissors, but I dislike the model of everything just being an absolute counter to something else (ie. Fire Emblem). Flexibility is our friend.

I think it would be interesting if the Dwarven mages got some additional spells with other mana types that could upgrade the golems (akin to repair). So, for example, if you had Air 1 you could cast a spell that gave them a permanent 10% withdraw, and so on. That would also give them a bit...

Or maybe that only units of a certain level can get the "powerful enemy" spawns from lairs. That way your level 1 scout won't get it on turn 3, but they can still provide a challenge. I think it would be great if some of the "powerful enemies" dropped items as well.

It's been discussed many times the idea of having the "beelines" become less weighted to make them more of "inclinations" (to allow the AI more flexibility). As far as I know nothing has been done in this direction recently though.

I made it to book 8 or so, then all the braid pulling, complex political intrigue, and huge cast of characters became too much for me. It's a good series, just one that I think was stretched beyond its logical limits.
