Yes, my current entertainment is trying to get culture flipping to work correctly. I'm able to flip in early game, but in mid game, it stalls and I don't know why. They have only 4 cities, so only 4 governors are possible. My cities surround them and I have all governors within 9 tiles. Most are...
It sure would be nice if they would drop hints about how long before we start seeing civ7. I'm afraid the priority is very very low. Even with tweaking, the game is starting to age fast. I rarely bother to finish won games as it's too tedious and boring.
Question everything!
What makes you think finding the 1st civ to declare would help your gameplay? It may not be a snowball avalanche but the AI using the same formula for civs all coming to the conclusion that the spoils are too juicy. Stopping the first may not do anything to the others.
Your concerns make sense in MP. I only play vs AI. "power number" is military strength and is a major factor on whether an AI will attack or not. My experience is the most powerful parts of the formula to attack or not, are 1- gap in military power, 2- distance to closest city, and 3- key...
Here is how I keep track of edits with a remark syntax in xml file. {I don't know sql and too lazy to learn}
{comment start} {date code} {item changed} {original value, new value} {comment end}
So can search file directories with reading file content enabled, and search for
date code option...
A few have asked how I keep gameplay interesting, so I am posting this as an idea starter. Hope it helps your gameplay.
What is a tweak?
================
A small change in the game that changes something but not as far as a full blown mod that can be shared with others.
How do I tweak...
It would be easier to help if you had a screen shot example. Key factors seem to be: 1. distance between their civ and your closest city, 2. which civs? military civs need more distance. 3. what is the gap between your mil strength and theirs? non-mil civs will allow you to play with larger...
Interesting... I have not been jumping on forum much lately as been involved IRL and past most of the learning curve of how does this game work? Since I had not visited or posted in a bit, I received a friendly reminder from forum to see what's new.
So why has your reading and posting dropped...
What have you changed? Did you backup the build before making changes? Did you document changes in xml files? Have you made changes beyond xml file edits? What is you xml editor?
Way too litte information. Have you checked the gossip log? That should tell you who declared war first. But beyond that, why don't you know? Didn't you see messages during game of war declaration? What was the key data? Your power number? Two highest power numbers? How close are their capitals...
Question: is there an easier way to see which landmass option creates X number of snow tiles? It seems like continent may give more than some others, but also seems to be effected by sea height and map size.
I found a workaround. Don't build melee unit, use horse or archer instead. Later when I have more resources, then upgraded melee is fine, just bad in early game.
How do you stop civ changing build queue? Playing GS and set production for warrior, but when iron is available the build will automatically change to swordsman or man-in-arms, using up iron resources and delaying putting unit in city. Everything I have tried fails. After resetting, in 2 to 4...
