Dear all,
greetings and thank you for taking a peek. My question goes out to the resource buffs in this forum and is quite simple, as the title suggests:
Should one base the resource placement of salpeter (resource needed for the making of black powder units, fertilizer in later ages and...
Hello everyone,
I'd like to ask you guys about what you think of the emerging expropiation technologies around gas and oil resources; namely "Shale Gas" and "Oil Sands".
On my map I placed a fixed amount of non-depletable resources in their actual, geographicaly correct location, so that, in...
Hi everybody,
I have only recently gone through the google sketchup library and spotted some vehicle/ship/naval models that would be very interesting to make, especialy since they are freely accessible and are such models that have been missing this far. Now, I have gotten me hands on the...
Hello everyone,
its been a fair while since I last released anything. I guess several factors influenced the rather long abstinence, which - no worries - I shall not go into detail about. In short, here we have new 3 recoloured units which will augument the other European SOE Axis units...
Since Stardock recently changed the Account Names- i am using my brother's account over there (michimex.)- I am still and yet again unable to post at Galciv2.com. Therefor my suggestions (see other thread) and new Dark Avatar designs will temporarly be unveiled over here at Civfanatics...

In the real world of physics weapon systems though increase in size/weight as they do increase in firepower....
As time goes by, and technology allows more and more systems to be installed on a hull, the way GalcivII handles weapons becomes an unrealistic: Basicaly one is required to add more...
Found these in the models folder and tried them out: Result- very nice a splash of additional color. No idea why these weren't included as jewelry.
above: Left, constructor with orange warning lights and green starboard position light; Right, all lights in a row.
Hiya people,
Since v.1.1, I have noticed that once I conquer an opponent's race planets (by force) most tiles are empty and that the conquered planet lacks almost all manufacturing buildings.
It has been suggested in the official GalcivII forum that the AI may be running a scorched earth...
Its kinda frustrating that all races' home star systems are so meagre- I mean, there are such cool (level 20+x) planets out there and systems with up to 5 habitable planets to be found, but the great race's homeworlds are rather randomly medium (not to say 'mediocre')
Why not give all home...
After getting bored with the skins that GalcivII shipped with- and while humbly halting ship construction until the next generation of the HSM-mod is ready, in the wake of v.1.2, I went on to search for new textures.
I present to you a newly discovered planet in a star system far, far away...

... after playing a while with v.1.11 installed and having conquered various races' planets in battle (without destryoing the planetary improvements) it struck me:
How on earth do those guys actualy build their ships? One factory per planet near and far? How does that account for those...
Right, I started a new game and wanted to use my previous game ship designs. So I made empty hulls to appear once the right hull tech is researched and started a new one. And they appear, and there was much rejoicing...
Only that ...... well, I can't outfit the empty hulls: I try putting a...
Playing a custom Civilization has always been a dual fold enterprize. On one hand you feel much more embedded into your very own civilization. On the oher side one always needs to chose which of the core major races is out.
But guess what 1.1 allows one to do...
I am not sure if this had been...
