hello -
Been playing Civ 5 again. I believe there is a hot key that would allow you to see the path of your trade routes on the map. Very helpful to protect your routes from roaming barbarians.
Is there a list of all the hot keys for the game? This one is pretty obscure.
thanks
Is there really not a "C" for center on active unit? No function for this at all.
Or a "W" for "wait" - go to next unit when cycling through units? Not a function at all?
Overall, I have to squint to see alot of things on the screen. Terrible.
Thanks for the brown on top of tan world...
yes. he almost always fails. Unless he catches me off guard early in the game.:)
Here's a question about the Huns. What is the value of one of their special abilities... to be able to name cities with the names from other civs? I have not played as the Huns yet myself to see the effect.
In my current game I was too late to found my own religion. Funny... i got a great profit, but all he could do was create an on-map shrine, poor guy.
So, later in the game, pretty much the entire continent follows the religion of one of my neighbors. Good for cultural conversion. I also...
Trading great works with other civs allows you to get the theming bonus for your culture building and cultural great wonders. Very helpful for increasing your culture generation.

I reach amount mid-game (now in Atomic age) and I produce a great writer but I can not place him anywhere. I have plenty of empty writer spots but the only option is to do a treatise. I have moved him from city to city that have open slots, but no go. I have encountered this in...
I'm a little confused about how to achieve some of the great works theming bonuses that involve great works from other civilizations.
My limited experience is that you get great works (writing, art, music) from the guilds. These are always from your own civilization. Some of the theming...
I'm sure this question has been asked, but I did not see thread on quick search.
With BNW -- since they have added even more stuff to the status bar at the top, I can no longer see the quantities of the resources I have. Is there a way to adjust the status bar or some other screen to see...
Sure, I've lost my capital... a number of times. It was a good learning experience... which seemed to not set in the first few times it happened.
The problem is sending my army out to explore and knock out barbarians as requested by city states. When, I should have keep more closer to...
I'm new to G&K so I'm a bit lost with religion in general.
I captured a Great Prophet wandering through a combat zone.
I believe I did this in my last game... it might have just been a missionary last game. And I was shocked when I went to use him he spread the religion of my enemy...
Thanks.
Yes, playing Vanilla.
I will fiddle with the graphics settings and see if that does anything for me.
What is the latest version? I assume since it is Steam is is being automatically updated. On the screen where I can load a game, I see 1.0.2.44 at the bottom of the screen. Is...
I'm relatively new to Civ V. One of the most annoying elements so far is the need to refresh worker orders at the end of every turn. Seems to happen if they are near the borders. They will complete the job if they are escorted but this is often unnecessary.
What I can only think must be a...
I generally select archipeligo with 60% water to get larger landmasses, several small islands, an civs scattered about the globe that are sometimes hard to meet until later in the game.
I've been selection random for the rest of the settings which makes for interesting maps but some of the...
Yes, the red dot is to indicate if the unit has already moved (or perform an action) already. That's all.
Regarding trading strategies -- only trade if it is in YOUR best interest. By trading coal to a potential rival, you are strengthening them... especially with coal. By denying coal to...
I posted this in the "quick answers" thread but did not get a response. Anyone know?
In Conquests -- does clearing forests, jungles and swamps have any implications for global warming? I may be confusing my civ rules... I seem to recall that this action made global warming more likely but...
