For siege units, which I use mostly for attacking cities, My first three promotions are city raider, 1,2,and three. After that, though, should it be drill to preserve the unit, or barrage to do more damage? My inclination is drill. Thoughts???

There is an option in the city panel to buy more land. You click on that option, and eligible land is displayed, along with the cost of adding it to your city. I have plenty of gold, put nothing happens when I click on the tile I want to purchase. Is this a bug? Or, am I missing something...

When building monastaries and temples I find that sometimes temples cost less than monastaries, and sometimes more. Why is this? What factors are involved?

If I try to found a city on top of an old razed city, I get a message that I am about to destroy a city ruins. What impact will this action have, and is it a good or bad thing to do?

What logic does the AI use to give you the blue circles of recommended sites to found a new city? Are they good? It seems to me that they always go for hills for defense, and food specials, and ignore other issues. Does it know something that I don't, like a hidden resource?
