I also have experienced this. When I'm in the Civilopedia on "Units" and I try to click on "replaced by [UU]", I get CTD... And reloading extra allows for a catnap.

The colonies in BTS (don't know if applies) are vassals. Extremely useful and loyal- if you're nice to them. The English colonies revolted only because of Britain's opression.
