I thought respawning was linked to whether there was a nice un-inhabited space for a new civ to settle in - usually an island. I guess if the original civs are killed early before most of the map has been colonized it provides a lot of places for respawning to occur. Just my theory. ;)
It's been a long tome since I've played a turn in this game.......
1830ad (1) 16 cities left to take. Currently peace. Government democracy. Mongols uncooperative. Check next Oedo year 1836. Might be useful to force a war later.
We are warned to move from Karakorum.
And welcome...
That was quite a tough came for me in places. I tried a different tactic this time - ignoring a lot of improvements by only building temples in most cities. I found the terrain at the beginning of the Mongol land and between Mongol and Spanish land made it difficult to advance. I finished later...
Sorry, been on holiday for the last two weeks. It's going to be a busy couple of weeks for me, so if you carry on through the list, I'll jump back in later..... if there's anything left! :nuke:
Ok, I'm going for Nivi for the same reason Shadowdude posted earlier, and Shadowdude, because his previous avatar clearly stated 'Licence to Kill'!! I think the avatar change is to put everyone off the scent ;)
OK, let's see. I think maybe it's shadowdude, due to the ninja smilie on his post on the previous page. And Oct X, because it seems the chore of killing every night is too much and he needs every other night off!!
I tried an OCC this time due to lack of time for a full game. I think I suffered with a slow start. I was building Space Flight when I ran out of time, and probably had enough spare food vans to build the spaceship in the quickest possible time.
I got it in 1991 on Amiga when it first came out, and I've been hooked to Civ ever since. I've recently found a PC version I'd forgotton I had, so I'm enjoying it all over again :D
I'm interested in a CivI GOTM having just found my copy of Civ. It's been lost so long I didn't even remember I had it!!! I thought I'd only owned it for the Amiga.
And thanks for the DosBox link. The game works perfectly, and I can now play some of my other Dos games too :D
